From Hawaiʻi

Keʻolu is a trio of talented musicians—Hiʻilani Asing, Krystal Mokuahi, and Cory Mau—whose name is inspired by the Hawaiian word “ʻolu,”meaning pleasant, comforting, and nostalgic.
These are the very emotions they strive to evoke through their music—and they are just as present in who they are as individuals.
Much like their name, each member of Keʻolu embodies warmth, humility, and aloha, qualities that shine through in their personalities and in every interaction on and off the stage.
Known for their rich harmonies and seamless blend of traditional Hawaiian sounds with contemporary influences, Keʻolu brings a refreshing yet soulful energy to every performance. Their repertoire spans beyond Hawaiian mele, incorporating timeless classics from the 70s, 80s, and more.
Formed in 2014 through what they consider divine timing, their first performance marked the beginning of a lasting friendship and creative partnership that continues to thrive.
Over the years, they’ve had the privilege of learning from and working with mentors in the Hawaiian music community, including Puka Asing and the Asing ʻohana, among others.
Grateful for the shared experiences, both challenging and rewarding, they value the connections and relationships they’ve built along the way. Their deep bond and mutual respect are at the heart of their music— and it’s something audiences can feel every time they perform.
